DERMAPLANING – ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW!

It’s soon becoming one of our MOST POPULAR skin treatments in the salon.. Dermaplaning! We often get asked so many questions about this treatment so we thought we’d pop together this blog to help answer some of them!

WHAT IS DERMAPLANING?
Epi-Blading, also known as Dermaplaning, is a gentle method used to deeply exfoliate the skin & facial hair.
A surgical blade is worked over the face removing the outer layers of dead skin cells as well as any fine hair (great for blonde hair that cannot be treated with laser).

IS IT OK FOR SENSITIVE SKINS?
This treatment is a good alternative for clients with sensitive skin who are not suitable for Microdermabrasion however if your skin is impaired, red, flakey and inflamed we do not suggest dermaplaning as a good option.
Epi-Blading or Dermaplaning is not advised for irritated skin, infected skin, fungal skin infections, active acne, active Rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, severe solar keratosis, skin cancer, raised moles, warts and any open wounds or sores.

IS THERE DOWNTIME AFTERWARDS?
There is no downtime associated with the treatment and your skin will instantly GLOW!

WILL THE HAIR GROW BACK DARKER OR THICKER?
Any fine hair removed during the treatment will not be stimulated or grow coarse making this ideal for everyone. If you suffer from course hormonal facial hair we suggest having this waxed or threaded before your dermaplane facial for best results. If you choose to not have this treatment done again and your facial fluff will just regrow to how it was before.

HOW OFTEN DOES IT NEED TO BE DONE?
For best Dermaplaning results we recommend this procedure every 4-6 weeks.

We use only certified Dermaplane Pro surgical blades and Pre/post care direct from the USA.
